September 2010 small groups
Confirmation Small Group
Description: Confirmation is a rite/ceremony which is celebrated in the church after individuals have completed an in-depth study of the basic truths of the Scriptures. At CTR, we offer confirmation training as a beneficial way to help parents train their children solidly in the basics of their faith as preparation for a lifetime of service in God’s kingdom and eternity as a child of God. In addition, confirmation training prepares kids for the precious gift of Communion. 7th and 8th grade kids are invited to attend with their parents, but anyone else who is interested may attend. The course will involve Bible study, a workbook, discussion, videos, and projects.

Women’s Day Group:
Ladies, we’re walking through the Psalms, while enjoying breakfast treats and fellowship. Bring your Bibles and a journal and be prepared to look at the Psalms, seeing how they apply to your life. We’ll spend time in fellowship, prayer, silent reading, journaling and sharing what God has taught us and how we’re doing in our lives. And we’ll eat. Childcare will be provided (we’ll talk about childcare at our first meeting). Call Kristine Stewart at 814-5747 with questions.

Men’s Bible Breakfast
Description: A time for men to fellowship and start their day with God’s word. This group will continue their studying the book of Romans. The Book of Romans is a masterful letter explaining what the Christian life is all about and exploring the significance of Christ’s death and resurrection. In Romans, Paul presents Jesus as the One who offered His righteousness as a gracious gift to sinful people. Paul furthermore clarifies the core concepts of the Christian faith: sin and righteousness, faith and works, justification and election. If you have ever been looking for an opportunity to really dive into the meaning of Christianity and what it is all about then this is the opportunity for you!
