Operation Ready Meals

Jesus was very clear that when we feed those who are hungry and comfort those who are suffering, it not only benefits them greatly, it is also as though we were doing it for Him.

So many families in Kileen, TX are suffering in the wake of last week’s shooting.  You might say, “But what can we do?”  A lot!  I have been working with Daniel Bezden the owner of the Studio Kitchen and Pastor Steve Dorn from Abiding Savior Church up in Killeen, to come up with a way through which we can help those families who are hurting.  Daniel has agreed to set aside a night for up to 30 of us to come in and prepare meals which we can then take to Abiding Savior to be delivered to the families of the victims.  Since these meals are all sealed, they can be divvied up as needed and frozen for future use.

So, here’s what we need from you.  We need up to 30 people who might be willing to prep the food in a fun setting  on Wednesday, November 18 at 7pm (we can bring snacks, wine, soda, etc. for ourselves).  We also need any number of people who would be willing to contribute money to this cause.  Each set costs $295 for 12 Entrees which contain 6 portions each for 72 servings, and it is our goal to be able to prep at least 5 of these sets.  That means we would need $1475 total.  (Checks can be made out to “Stephanie Hahn,” write “Killeen Project” in the memo)

For those who help out at the Studio Kitchen, Daniel has offered a $40 gift certificate to be used at another time.  He has been super helpful, even offering to freeze the meals on-sight and provide us with the coolers to take everything up to Killeen the next morning.

Contact Steph asap to let us know how you can participate.

Let’s make a difference together!
